Hampton man accused in Newport News double homicide
Police arrested a Hampton man in connection with a double homicide that occurred March 16 in a local trailer park.
Hampton resident Brian Thomas Smith, of the unit block of Summerset Lane, faces two counts of first-degree murder in connection with the shooting deaths of Katherine Diane Parker, 47, and Eddie Arnold Ezzell III, 43, of Dean Ray Court, according to the Newport News Police Department news release.
Police say a tip from a Crime Line caller led to the arrest.
Parker and Ezzell were reportedly found dead in their RV after police received a call at 1:13 p.m. March 16, reporting a possible death. The suspect is accused of killing Parker and Ezzell over prescription drugs.
Newport News homicide detectives and Hampton Police Division officers arrested Smith just after 9 p.m. Wednesday, June 20, according to the release.
